Materazzi: "It's No Secret That Inzaghi Wants Radu At Inter. But He Chose With His Heart, So He Stayed At Lazio"
Stefan Radu's agent confirmed that Simone Inzaghi wants the defender to join Inter and his current situation at Lazio under coach Maurizo Sarri is not the best.
Romanian international defender, Stefan Radu will turn 35 this month and was ready to leave on a free transfer last summer before signing a new contract in mid-August. However, he has not featured for the Biancoceleste so far in the 2021/22 season.
"Radu's situation at Lazio is not the best," said his agent, Matteo Materazzi via Radio Incontro Olympia.
"He hasn't played at all this season in any competition and for him, after so many top-flight tournaments he's been in, it's a strange moment."
The agent then confirmed that his client was fit without the injury which was the reason for his reduced playing time under Sarri.
"Stefan is fit, he trains like a pro, and of course coach Sarri makes the decisions, he knows Stefan will be ready whenever needed."
When asked if there is any regret that the defender did not follow in the footsteps of Inzaghi and Joaquin Correa to Inter Milan last summer, this is Materazzi's response.
"It's no secret that Inzaghi wants him at Inter, Stefan has received several offers because he is a free agent, including from the Nerazzuri," he explained.
"He chose with his heart, so he stayed at Lazio, as a fan, it's hard to see him sidelined but football can change from one moment to another.
"Stefan started at left-back, so he can play in a four-man formation or even in the middle of replacing Francesco Acerbi who was absent against Inter Milan."
