Inter Choose Strakosha As A Back-up Plan In Case They Fail To Get Onana
Inter Milan has been offered the opportunity to sign Lazio goalkeeper Tomas Strakosha, although the Nerazzurri are not interested.
As FCInterNews has reported, the Albanian goalkeeper was offered to Inter as an alternative option should the club fail to land Andre Onana from Ajax.
Inter has already started looking for a new goalkeeper to replace their first-choice goalkeeper, Samir Handanovic, whose form is no longer consistent, considering he is 37 years old.
Onana remains a priority target for the Nerazzurri, but Strakosha could be an attractive option, given that he worked with coach Simone Inzaghi for several seasons at Lazio.
Strakosha has the potential to become a free agent next summer, as he would not have signed his new contract with the Italian capital club had he been the second-choice goalkeeper.
Biancoceleste coach, Maurizio Sarri prefers former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina as his team's main goalkeeper, and that could force Strakosha to leave the club on a free transfer next year when his contract with the Biancoceleste expires on 30 June 2022.
