Escalante Is Ready To Leave Lazio In January After Lose His Position To Cataldi

Lazio midfielder, Gonzalo Escalante has been unable to compete with Danilo Cataldi in the starting line-up and is reportedly set to leave in January.  The Argentine player has played fewer minutes this season.

As reported by Italian media, LaLazioSiamoNoi, 28-year-old Argentinean Gonzalo Escalante has only played for eight minutes so far in the 2021/22 season under coach Maurizio Sarri who is reportedly more convinced in the appearance of Italian midfielder Danilo Cataldi.

Cataldi is currently playing as a cover for veteran Brazilian players, Lucas Leiva, and Escalante is increasingly ignored by the Lazio coach so that he is often just a warmer on the bench.

In the last summer exchange, the Biancoceleste priced the Argentine midfielder for a transfer value of 7 to 8 million Euros, despite being attracted by Olympique Marseille, the French club was unable to meet this price request since Boubacar Kamara was still staying in the team made by Jorge Sampaoli.

While Kamara is rumored to be able to leave the south of France in January with several Premier League clubs interested in his services.  Then Marseille can try again to recruit the Biancoceleste midfielder.

Apart from Marseille, several clubs from Turkey and Spain are also interested in the services of the 28-year-old, meaning a January transfer is entirely possible especially if Sarri continues to leave him on the bench.
