Acerbi Is Risking 2 Match Suspension After Got Red Card Against Bologna
Lazio defender, Francesco Acerbi is rumored to be serving a two-match suspension in Serie A against Inter and Hellas Verona after being shown a red card in the match against Bologna last weekend.
As reported by Italian media, LazioNews24 revealed that 33-year-old Italian defender Francesco Acerbi was previously shown a yellow card during Lazio's loss to Bologna after protesting referee Davide Massa's decision before being given a straight red card after continuing to protest at the referee.
It didn't stop there, the defender then raised his middle finger as he left the field, an action that must be considered in determining the length of his suspension sentence that he must serve.
Those few minutes of action by Acerbi will surely end up hurting him and the team as he now risks missing Biancoceleste's two Serie A matches against Inter and Hellas Verona.
Meanwhile, the defender has apologized for his actions as evidence that the 3-0 loss to Bologna left the players unable to think clearly. The 33-year-old Italian is one of Maurizio Sarri's key players, starting every game in all competitions so far.
After the loss to the Rossoblu, Maurizio Sarri provided two days of rest for the players who were not called up for international duty. Before returning to routine training to prepare for the next match which will take place in ten days.
