Zaccagni: "Lazio Is A Great Opportunity For Me, Sarri Will Make Me Grow"
Mattia Zaccagni has expressed confidence that he can further improve his form under Maurizio Sarri with his new team, Lazio. The midfielder was brought in from Hellas Verona on the last day of the transfer window.
Mattia Zaccagni was finally officially introduced as a new Biancoceleste player and he expressed his happiness and his goals with the capital club and expressed his confidence to be able to further his career at the Olimpico. The midfielder will likely be given the chance to make his debut against AC Milan at the San Siro on Sunday (12/09) night.
"I am very happy to be here, Lazio is a great opportunity for me, a fantastic squad and in my opinion, I will play in the same position as at Hellas Verona," he said as quoted by Football-Italy.
"I made my debut in Serie A at the San Siro against Inter, so it would be nice if I started again in the same place with a different club."
Zaccagni's transfer to the Biancoceleste went fast after negotiations with their main target failed halfway.
"As soon as I heard about Lazio's interest, I didn't say no, I said yes quickly and I'm sure Sarri will improve my form. Apart from the coaching factor, which is one of the best, I also wanted to join a club with a lot of history."
The midfielder may not get as much playing time with Maurizio Sarri's side as he did at Verona especially with Pedro and Felipe Anderson in the same position.
"It is an honor for me and I can learn a lot by working with these amazing teammates."
