Tare: "Sarri Is Happy With The Way The Players Are Working"
Lazio director, Igli Tare insists that Maurizio Sarri still needs time to apply his style of play to the capital club. The 62-year-old coach has only joined for a few months.
Lazio have started their Europa League campaign with disappointing results after losing 1-0 to hosts Galatasaray last Thursday night before they also lost 2-0 to AC Milan in Serie A under Maurizio Sarri.
"It takes time because you have only started this change for three months, we made this choice knowing that we needed a change and we needed time," Tare told Sky Sport Italia.
"You can see the intensity and the quick passing in training, but it's less noticeable in the games, in the first two games we showed a good reaction after conceding early in the game and were able to turn things around. The loss to Milan came as a surprise because we worked hard in training and saw players who were determined to do well but we did the opposite in the game.
"This is a competitive tournament that has improved tremendously, I see it based on our group which is almost the same level as in the Champions League."
Sarri is a completely different coach from his predecessor Simone Inzaghi and switched the Biancoceleste formation to a 4-3-3 after years of using a 3-5-2.
"When we chose Sarri, we realized that this was not an easy road, we had to get someone who was very prepared with a great experience. The team is following him like an army and he is happy with the way the players are working."
