Sarri's Record At The Begining Of Season
Maurizio Sarri's Lazio started strong in Serie A and then slowed down in the last two games. How had it gone in past seasons?
Start with a bang then stop. Maurizio Sarri's Lazio won the first two matches of the championship in a fairly clear way, see the 6-1 against Spezia, only to slow down with a defeat against Milan and a draw in the final against Cagliari, thanks to a great goal from Cataldi.
Sarri's earlier days with Lazio were not the best. But the difficult starts to the season are in the tradition of the Tuscan technician.
The Sarri's revolution in Lazio has begun, but the results are struggling to arrive. The change of game and mentality is beginning to be seen. The fan, however, wants the victories and at the moment in 5 games, only 2 have arrived, against teams of much lower technical caliber than the Biancoceleste one.
The new Lazio coach has never shone at the start of the season, ever since his debut in Serie A with Empoli. 2 defeats and 3 draws in the first five official matches with the Tuscan team in 2014-15, with just 5 goals scored and 8 conceded. At the end of the season, however, it was a safe avoiding relegation, with four matches remaining.
The following year in Napoli it did not go better. Seven points in five matches. The season ended with Higuain's record of goals (36), 82 total points, and second place in the standings after a close fight with Juventus.
In 2018, in the Premier League with Chelsea, the good start, with four wins and one defeat, 10 goals scored and 5 conceded. With Juventus in 2019, he also got 4 wins and 1 draw and in the end, the Europa League and Scudetto arrived respectively.
So, patience then, that's what it takes. The new path, with a winning coach, has just begun. To enter and show off beauty must be known to wait.
