Sarri: "I Ask Team To Focus On The Europa League Game, Lokomotiv Moscow Is A Tough Opponent."
Lazio coach, Maurizio Sarri confirmed that he is currently fully focused on facing a tough match against Russia's Lokomotiv Moscow in the second match of the group stage which will take place Thursday (30/09) evening. The Italian capital team was armed with a defeat in the opening match from Galatasaray.
Lazio has just picked up a big win against city rivals AS Roma in Serie A, but Sarri insists that the toughest test will be to continue with the same motivation.
"Everyone can play with high motivation, but only a few can play like that for two months, only the winner can do it for 10 months, for us this is an important test," said the coach as quoted by Football-Italia.
The 62-year-old coach said he would evaluate ahead of Thursday night's match against Lokomotiv Moscow in the Europa League.
"We will evaluate it today (yesterday), the team is still divided by minutes played in the derby," he said.
"The league gives the fixtures in the league 61 hours after the European game, it's very unreasonable, but we have to adapt."
The coach doesn't know if the win over Roma could be a turning point for the Biancoceleste and he wants to focus on the Europa League.
"I don't know, teams are always different, I ask them to focus on the Europa League game," he continued.
"We lost the first game, so tomorrow is very important, Lokomotiv Moscow is a tough opponent.
"I played there two years ago with Juventus, we won but we suffered, in the first leg we lost, then Dybala replied with his two goals.
"In the second leg, we won thanks to an action from Douglas Costa."
