Romagnoli Urges Milan To Let Him Go To Lazio In January
Due to his expiring contract, Alessio Romagnoli is reported to be leaving AC Milan in January next year to join his idol club since childhood, Lazio.
For information, Alessio Romagnoli's contract at the San Siro will indeed expire on June 30, 2022.
Because they don't want to repeat the mistake with the departures of Hakan Calhanoglu and Gianluigi Donnarumma who left for free this year, AC Milan will reportedly try as hard as possible to cash in on Romagnoli in the winter transfer market tomorrow.
In La Repubblica's latest report, the most favorite destination to become Romagnoli's new club is Lazio.
Although the defender is a genuine product of AS Roma's academy, Romagnoli several years ago stated that he and his extended family were the true fans of the Biancoceleste.
This news was welcome because Lazio themselves need reinforcement of a new central defender, to support coach Maurizio Sarri's 4-3-3 formation.
So far the Biancocelste only has one reliable defender, namely Francesco Acerbi.
While the other three names, starting from Luiz Felipe, Stefan Radu, and Patric all have a different series of problems ranging from being prone to injury or often making blunders on the field.
With his contract in January with only six months remaining, Lazio is also predicted to be able to make a bid for Romagnoli at a relatively cheap price.
Romagnoli's selling price is currently estimated at 25 million Euros (via Transfermarkt). That means the price could decrease further in the next winter transfer market.
