Strakosha Is Reluctant To Sign A New Contract If He Becomes Lazio's Second Goalkeeper
Lazio goalkeeper, Thomas Strakosha is reportedly not going to sign a new contract with the Italian capital club if he is still the second choice goalkeeper after veteran Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina this season.
The 26-year-old Albanian goalkeeper, Thomas Strakosha wants more playing time this season after losing his place in Lazio's starting line-up last season to Pepe Reina, as reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero on Tuesday (17/08) morning local time.
Coach Maurizio Sarri seems to prefer the former Liverpool goalkeeper who could force Strakosha to leave the club on a free transfer next year after his contract with the Biancoceleste expired.
The goalkeeper's agent hinted that his client was willing to extend his contract during a pre-season training session held at Auronzo di Cadore but if the goalkeeper is not given consistent playing time then he will wait to leave the Olimpico on a free.
The news further revealed that his agent will have a meeting with the management of The Aquile on Tuesday (17/08) to discuss the future of the 26-year-old goalkeeper.
Last season the goalkeeper made just nine Serie A appearances with a total of 810 minutes, during which time he conceded 14 goals and kept three clean sheets for the Italian capital side.
