[OFFICIAL] Lucas Torreira Move To Fiorentina On Loan
Lucas Torreira has officially left Arsenal to join Fiorentina. This was revealed directly by La Viola through their official website.
"Fiorentina announces that we have signed, temporarily with purchase rights, Lucas Torreira from Arsenal," the Serie A club wrote on their official website.
"This new Viola player was born in Fray Bentos, Uruguay on February 11, 1996. Last season, he played with Atletico Madrid and won La Liga 2020/21," they added.
Goal International reports that Torreira could be made permanent by Fiorentina for 15 million euros.
Torreira joined Arsenal from Sampdoria in 2018. In his first season, the Uruguay national team player appeared in 34 Premier League matches and scored two goals.
However, he started to get sidelined after that. He was also sent to Atletico on loan at the beginning of 2020/21.
The presence of Albert Sambi Lokonga and Martin Odegaard made Torreira even more displaced. He was also not included in the Arsenal squad in the first two Premier League games this season.
Before, he was linked to Lazio as the capital club is searching a regista for vice-leiva. But the negotiation is stalled as before lazio must overcome their liquidity index first before signing new players.
