Emre Belozoglu Ready To Join Maurizio Sarri's Coaching Staff At Lazio
Former Fenerbahce sporting director, Emre Belozoglu is reportedly ready to join as a member of Maurizio Sarri's coaching staff at Lazio next month, according to Turkish media reports.
According to Turkish media reports, Sabah.com revealed that former Inter and Newcastle midfielder Emre Belozoglu was ready to join the Turkish national team as assistant coach to Senol Gunes but negotiations did not go well and the idea has now been dismissed.
Rumors from Turkey further linking Belozoglu with a move to Lazio have been circulating throughout the summer and it now looks like the 40-year-old Turkish man will be on Maurizio Sarri's staff next month in September.
While an agreement between the two parties is likely to be reached shortly with the Biancoceleste who will soon start the 2021/22 Serie A season by facing Empoli in a match that will take place Saturday (21/08) evening local time.
Belozoglu is fluent in Italian after spending four years of his playing career with Inter from 2001 to 2005, where he made 114 appearances and scored five goals in all competitions for the Nerazzuri. With the Serie A club, he won the Coppa Italia in the 2004-2005 season.
Before being linked with Sarri's staff, he worked as sporting director for Turkish club Fenerbahce before becoming interim coach last season after Erol Bulut was sacked.
