Muriqi Determined To Prove Himself In Front Of Maurizio Sarri
Lazio's striker Vedat Muriqi has expressed his desire to impress in front of new coach Maurizio Sarri throughout the pre-season training session which started on 10 July at Auronzo di Cadore.
Vedat Muriqi discussed many things especially his desire to impress in front of Maurizio Sarri in this pre-season training session, but this is the first time he has commented on his physical condition.
"I'm healthy, I need to train here, Auronzo, this year I was lucky enough to be here for training," the striker said via Lazio Style Channel.
"Last year I was out because of Covid and also injured."
Furthermore, the former Fenerbahce striker discussed what it was like to work with the new coach, Maurizio Sarri.
"It's good to be able to train directly here with Sarri to learn the dynamics, with our coach talking together not personally," he said.
"He's an honest coach so there's no reason to talk privately, he talks to everyone on the pitch and it's important to know what he wants.
"I hope you see the real Muriqi, being there is important to be able to bounce back next season after last season was plagued by covid and also injuries."
The striker also discussed the change in tactics adopted by the 62-year-old coach which was in complete contrast to the previous coach, Simone Inzaghi.
"In terms of tactics there have been changes, playing with two or three strikers feels different, Sarri is one of the best coaches in the world, it will take time but we will be able to play with three strikers later."
