Lazio Fines Luis Alberto
Lazio is reported to have fined one of their star players, Luis Alberto, who delayed his return from summer vacation and seems to want to leave the Italian capital club.
According to reports by Il Corriere Dello Sport, Lazio has fined Luis Alberto for delaying his return from his summer vacation and forcing a move to another club.
The Spaniard was supposed to be at Formello on Thursday (08/07) local time to start a pre-season training session under the new coach, Maurizio Sarri. However, the former Liverpool player did not come to the training center.
His actions irritated the club, sporting director Igli Tare asked the 28-year-old to join his other teammates but it remains unclear whether the Spaniard will travel to Auronzo di Cadore on Saturday morning local time to start Biancoceleste pre-season programs.
The news further revealed that Alberto indirectly informed The Aquile that he wanted to leave this summer. Juventus, Milan, Inter, and Atletico Madrid have been linked with the player's transfer, although the club has yet to receive an official offer. The 28-year-old player joined the capital club in 2016 and his contract at the Stadio Olimpico will expire in 2025.
Sarri looks set to address the issue when he is officially introduced as Aquile coach this Friday. Meanwhile, the capital's Eagles are confirmed to have secured the services of Elseid Hysaj and Felipe Anderson who will soon join the team.
