Danilo Cataldi Determined To Stay At Lazio
Lazio midfielder Danilo Cataldi has expressed his desire to remain at the capital club even though he is unable to compete with a row of more classy players in his position.
Danilo Cataldi and his other teammates have returned to Rome after undergoing a pre-season training session at Auronzo di Cadore, but the midfielder briefly discussed one of the friendlies played by Maurizio Sarri's team against Serie C club Triestina where they managed to win 5-2. The 26-year-old midfielder discussed the performance of the capital team in the first half which was relatively strong and put them ahead 4-0.
"I saw it from the bench, but we were outstanding, we've improved a lot lately," he said via LazioNews24.
"We try to do what the coach tells us to do."
Then he commented on the change in the formation from the previous 3-5-2 to 4-3-3 according to the new coach, Maurizio Sarri.
"The formation change is clear, changing the formation of three defenders to four players is indeed difficult, also because the movement is departmental," he explained.
"It will be difficult for sure, but we are working hard to do it."
In the end, Cataldi discusses his plans.
"My target is to stay at Lazio, no doubt about it."
The 26-year-old player is still under contract with the Biancoceleste until 2024, he made 19 appearances in the last season under the previous coach, Simone Inzaghi with a total of 557 minutes, he struggled to get more regular playing time only appear four opportunities to be a starter in all competitions.
Cataldi is a product of The Aquile academy and spent his entire professional career with the Biancoceleste and had spells on loan with Crotone, Genoa, and Benevento to gain more game times.
